Rangers win 5th straight 5-4 over the Angels in Aneheim

The Texas Rangers won their fifth straight game 5-4 Tuesday night over the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. It was the first time since the 2023 post season that Texas won 5 straight and it’s the their first back to back series win of the season.

The Rangers (44-48) are 4 games under .500 now and 5 1/2 games out of first place in the American League West.

Adolis Garcia put the Rangers in the lead for good in the 8th inning with a solo bomb.

Rangers Manager Bruce Bochy said the Rangers need Garcia

“We need him, he’s a guy that carried us at times last year,” Texas Ranges manager Bruce Bochy said. “If we get him going it’s going to be more fun.”

Rangers Angles

Jose Leclerc (4-4)  was the winning pitcher for Texas. Leclerc pitched 1/3 of an inning in relief.

Max Scherzer was the starter on the mound for Texas. Scherzer pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs, 8 hits, striking out 6 and walking none.

The Rangers will go for the sweep at the Angels tonight, first pitch at 8:38 p.m. Michael Lorenzen (5-4) will be the starting pitcher for Texas. Griffin Canning (3-9) will be the starting pitcher for the Angels.
