The Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1 Tuesday sweeping the wildcard series 2-games-to-none.
Nathan Eovaldi was the winning pitcher for Texas. Eovaldi pitched 6 and 2/3’s innings allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits. Eovaldi struck out 8 and walked none.
The Rangers pounded the Rays pitchers for 12 hits. Josh Jung was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Corey Seager was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Adolis Garcia and Evan Carter each homered.
“I think it was real huge. We came here we had a day off after a grind of a schedule,” Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. “Those regulars were out there every day.”
