The Texas Rangers went down to Houston and shot down the Houston Astros 9-2 Sunday forcing a game 7 in the ALCS.
Nathan Eovaldi was the winning pitcher for Texas. Eovaldi pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 4 and walking three. The Rangers bullpen came in and held on the to the lead. Josh Sborz, Andrew Heaney, and Jose Leclerc were the pitchers from Rangers bullpen crew that came in and shut the door.
Mitch Garver was player of the game for Texas
Mitch Garver led the Rangers at the plate going 3-for-4 with 1 home run, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Rangers right fielder Adolis Garcia put the Astros away for good with a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth.
The ALCS is tied at 3 games each. Each game has been won by the road team.
It appears the Rangers have the road field advantage for game 7. Texas has won all 7 road games they’ve played in the post season this year.
